Alright, this the one true drawback of this site, uploading files is a little more work than one may want to do but it's really easy once you get the hang of it.
To upload a file to the forums (ie. a lesson plan) you will first have to load your file to the files page on the Wiki (this is located to the left on the sidebar). Once you've done this come to the forums, create your new thread let's assume it was The Greatest Lesson Plan, then you need to enter the following code.
[[file /files/document name.doc]]
In the area entitled "document name" you would enter the actual name of your document so if you were using the aforementioned title it would like this:
[[file/files/TheGreatestLessonPlan.doc]]
This would then provide a link from your forums post to the file you uploaded.
The same can be done for ANY type of file just note you will need to change the directory command on the end which refers to the ".doc".
Here is a list of some of the directory commands incase you are loading different file types.
.rtf - Rich Text Format
.doc - Most Word documents
.docx - Some of the newer versions of word save in this format NOTE: It is not advised to post in this format, some students having older versions of word may not be able to open it.
.xls - Most Excel files
.xlsx - Any Excel file using Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher NOTE: It is not advised to post in this format, some students having older versions of word may not be able to open it.
.ppt - Most PowerPoint files
.pptx - Any PowerPoint file using Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 or higher NOTE: It is not advised to post in this format, some students having older versions of word may not be able to open it.
